You can make an additional free attack after making an unarmed or weapon attack.

When you are wielding a melee weapon that is not Two-Handed or Versatile in one hand, and no weapon in the other, you deal an additional 2 damage with that weapon.

When you make an offhand attack, you can add your Ability Score Modifier to the damage of the attack. An offhand Hand Crossbow always adds your Dexterity Ability Score Modifier to the damage of the attack regardless of whether of you have Two Weapon Fighting or not.
